How to get your commercial rental license in Colorado
Commercial rental companies are seeking to start operating in Colorado again, despite a recent law that bans commercial use of the state’s recreational marijuana market.
The new regulations allow commercial rentals in most residential neighborhoods.
Commercials are allowed to operate within their assigned residential zones, but there is a catch.
The city of Denver, which oversees recreational use, says they must comply with the recreational use law.
Commercial owners can operate as many as five residential units, but the city of Colorado says it will not allow more than three units per residential unit.
Commercial rental companies can also rent apartments.
Denver officials say the rule will make it harder for them to grow in the city.
The rules will also prevent them from renting out more than one unit.
The city said in a news release that residential rental businesses must be licensed by the city and adhere to the same licensing requirements as commercial businesses.
