The Ford Focus, announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month, is a big departure from the small, sporty sports sedan it had released in 2016.
The Focus, based on a new 3.0-liter V6 engine, will offer an average fuel economy of 24 miles per gallon on a combined city and highway rating.
The new Focus is a four-door sedan that also comes with a front and rear-mounted rear view camera and a new audio system.
The redesigned Focus has been a popular choice for consumers for decades.
The company’s CEO, Bill Ford, was a Ford Motor Co. engineer who worked on the F-150 and the Mustang.
The carmaker has also had a big influence in how Ford develops cars, according to the Journal.
Its Ford Fusion, a compact crossover and the next generation of the F series of luxury sedans, is among the most advanced vehicles in the U.S. But Ford is also one of the biggest car makers in the world, producing more than 5 million cars a year.
Ford says the Focus is its most powerful car yet.
Ford is the world’s third-largest automaker.
The F-Series, the brand’s smaller, sportier, less expensive sedan, is its only large-volume sedan.
Ford will start making the Focus at a plant in South Carolina, but it is expected to expand production of the car there, too.
Ford’s move into electric vehicles is part of its strategy to build a larger, more diversified brand.
The automaker has spent billions to build electric vehicles, but has yet to offer a full-size plug-in hybrid sedan.
The Model 3, a smaller, lower-priced electric sedan that the company plans to introduce next year, is more ambitious than the Focus.
The goal is to offer the best electric vehicle, based off its advanced technology and advanced safety features.
“The new Focus represents the future of Ford, a company that has been on a roll for the last 15 years,” said John Flannery, an analyst at Kelley Blue Book.
“It is a bold and forward-looking move that will allow Ford to continue building the best and safest vehicles we know how.”
Ford’s decision to build the Focus in the United States will be difficult to reverse.
U.K. carmakers have been ramping up their electric cars as electric cars have become more affordable and easier to obtain.
Electric vehicles accounted for less than 0.2% of all vehicles sold in the first nine months of this year.
The next-lowest share was the Audi A3, a plug-ins hybrid, which accounted for 3.7%.
Ford will have to overcome two big obstacles to making a major shift.
First, the company has to overcome the challenge of getting buyers to spend more money on electric vehicles.
Many consumers have balked at the idea of paying more for a plug, but Ford is banking on it.
A study by the company found that in the five years since electric cars were made more affordable, demand for plug-out cars rose from 9.5% of the market to 27.6% in 2018.
Ford also has to work out a way to sell electric cars in a way that isn’t too much like its traditional cars.
It will have a choice of two new models: the Fusion or Fusion E. The Fusion E, like the Focus, will be offered in a new compact SUV, the Expedition.
It is the first plug-n-play car that will be sold in America in the long term.
The two new Fusion models will be made by General Motors Co. The Expedition and Fusion E have different pricing and styling, and the Expedition will be a more affordable alternative to the Focus that has a lower price tag than the Fusion.
The Explorer, Ford’s next-generation SUV, will cost $49,999, while the Escape will go for $55,000.
General Motors has also agreed to invest $1.2 billion to build new electric vehicles at a new plant in Michigan.
General plans to make the Chevrolet Bolt, the first mass-market plug-into car, by 2021.
The Bolt will be built by Tesla Motors Inc., and General is investing in other new automakers to help the electric vehicle market.
The move to make more cars from Ford will require more investment, but that is part the company’s strategy.
“We will not be able to continue to build cars based on technology that has failed, and we will be able more readily to embrace new technology that is more cost-effective and more accessible to consumers,” said Richard M. Anderson, Ford CEO, in a statement.
Ford has been aggressive about making EVs and battery electric vehicles for years, and it has been one of America’s leading carmakers in electric vehicles since 2009.
Ford sold nearly 7.6 million vehicles in 2017.
